History

Sri Aurobindo Srikshetra, Dalijoda is also known as the Auroville of  Odisha, As realized by the visionary & founder of this Ashram Sri Babaji Maharaj (the foremost Odia sadhak of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry), this place was a centre of sadhana sometime in the ancient past. Prior to its establishment in 1974, this was a private farm known as Srikshetra Farm owned by Dr.Kshetramohan Ray and his wife Sreemati Dei (hence the name Srikshetra) that was partly sold & partly donated by the generous heirs of the Ray family for the purpose of establishing this Ashram  under  the  supervision of Navajyoti Karyalaya, Sri Aurobindo Ashram.

Home: About

Situated about 35 km from Cuttack in Odisha(India) and managed by Sri Aurobindo Srikshetra Trust autonomously, this sacred place of Sri Aurobindo’s integral yoga is reachable by road on the Tangi-Haripur Road(which is the preferable route out of the two routes available from Cuttack). Bus communication is not much reliable, and coming by private vehicles is preferred. The nearest place of local importance is Karanji which is about 3.5 km from Kankali(Kotasahi) where this Srikshetra is situated. Unlike the main Ashram at Puducherry which is a part of the city, Sri Aurobindo Srikshetra is a part of the wilderness adjoining the Kapilas hill-forests.

Sri Aurobindo Srikshetra, Dalijoda Services

The ashram inmates live & strive to serve only the supreme. However, the society gets benefited from their good practices such as organic cultivation (that includes sugar cane, two varieties of indigenous scented rice, and vegetables) and farming (milk and milk-products among which the sweet peda is quite popular). The most important part of this institution is the school which is a boon for the people of this remote place.

DISCLAIMER

This website is not the official web-portal of either Sri Aurobindo Srikshetra, Dalijoda or Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Puducherry. This is rather a humble offering of one of the admirers of these two great institutions, particularly the Dalijoda Ashram because of the hard work that is being done there in silence despite all odds.  The sadhaks of Dalijoda are far away from any preaching or proclamation or advertisement which is why this Ashram has become the hidden Puducherry(Sri Aurobindo Ashram). The present website is a sincere attempt to help the seekers of truth worldwide to get some glances of this sacred place. However, in case any of the above institutions find this initiative unlawful or otherwise unacceptable they may please contact us at bikash1968@gmail.com so that it can be withdrawn.

Moreover, this website being developed & hoisted under a free service from wix.com, unwanted interventions beyond the control of the developer, such as commercial advertisements, may take place which in turn may appear to be messy or otherwise corruptive. In case it so happens and remedial measures against the same do not succeed, then also this website may be withdrawn.
